Admissions Policy
In order to be considered for a home you must:
1. Be of retirement age
2. Have had close associations with Cambridge or surrounding villages
3. Be capable of looking after yourselves and your accommodation
The Board of Management will then take into account the applicant's financial circumstances and their housing and social needs.
In certain circumstances, consideration by the board may be given to someone close to retirement age on the grounds of severe hardship through ill-health, disability or discrimination.
Conditions of Residence
1. Every Resident shall have accommodation subject to the Resident paying:
(i) a charge for the maintenance and upkeep of their home and
the provision of essential services to maintain it
(ii) a weekly contribution towards the cost of water, heating and
lighting
(iii) the Council Tax for his or her accommodation
2. Residents are entitled to occupy accommodation in the Homes provided:
(i) they abide by the rules and regulations in their license to occupy and in the handbook
(ii) they remain capable of looking after themselves and their
accommodation
(iii) their financial circumstances do not improve to an extent which
makes residence inappropriate
